James P. “Big Jim” Meola of Roscoe, NY, a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the Roscoe Regional Rehab. and Residential Health Care Facility, Roscoe, NY. He was 60.
The son of Charlene Baum Meola and the late Joseph Meola, Sr., he was born October 19, 1959 in Callicoon, New York.
Big Jim had worked for the Town of Rockland as a heavy equipment operator and he was a longtime member of the Roscoe-Rockland Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Schwartz Meola, at home; two sons, James Robert Meola of Port Jervis, NY and Jeffrey Richard Meola and his wife Amber of Roscoe, NY; his mother, Charlene Meola of Roscoe, NY; one sister, JoAnn Wright of Roscoe, NY; one brother, Jeffrey Meola and his companion Tracy of Wilmington, NC; and three grandchildren, Jayson, Julia and Joshua. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Meola, Sr. and two brothers, Joseph Meola, Jr. and Johnny Meola.
Visitation will be Monday, January 20, 2020 from 2-4 and 7-9PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.
Firematic services will be Monday, January 20, 2020 at 7PM in the funeral home.
