Marie O'Dell

Marie C. O’Dell of Walton, NY, a retired nurse’s aide at the Roscoe Community Nursing Home, Roscoe, NY and a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the Delhi Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Delhi, NY.  She was 89.

The daughter of the late Warren Tiffany Babcock O’Dell and Margaret Scudder Babcock, she was born March 9, 1929 in Gregorytown, NY.

Marie was a member of the Colchester Community United Methodist Church, Downsville, NY; a former member of the James Moore American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; and a former member of the Colchester Senior Citizens group.  Marie enjoyed baking, gardening, and working at church functions.

Survivors include her daughter, Josephine “Josie” M. Van Dunk of Walton, NY; three grandsons, Christopher Weaver and his spouse Dannii, Daniel O’Dell and his spouse Samantha, and Michael O’Dell and his wife Karri; two great granddaughters, Courtney and Lindsley; two nieces; one nephew; one sister in law, Flora Babcock; and a special friend, Wendy Hunt.  She was predeceased by her husband, Kingsley O’Dell Sr.; her son, Kingsley O’Dell, Jr.; one brother, Myron Babcock; and one sister, Margaret Nardi.

A memorial service will be Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 11 AM in the Colchester Community Church, Downsville, NY.  Pastor Kent Terchuman will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Paige Cemetery, Downsville, NY.
