Angela D. Curtis of Monticello, NY, a retired teacher and lifelong area resident, died Friday, August 29, 2025 at the Eger Rehab and Nursing Facility in Staten Island, NY. She was 62.
The daughter of the late John R. and Viola Katz DiMarzio, she was born September 26, 1962 in Middletown, NY.
Angela was a Communicant of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Monticello, NY, she had been a teacher for the Monticello Central School District and had worked at the Chase School before retiring.
She was a graduate of Monticello High School, St. Rose College, Albany NY, and Marist College, Poughkeepsie, NY. Angela was an active member of the Catholic Daughters and Alpha Delta Kappa NYS Sullivan County Mu Chapter. She worked with youth in the Catholic Youth Organization and most recently with the Pallottine Teenage Federation. She also enjoyed traveling with friends worldwide.
Survivors include four sisters, Marina Nolan of Monticello, NY, Andrea Calo of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Marisa Heisler and her husband Tim of Liberty, NY and Regina Nadal and her husband Gerard of Staten Island, NY; two brothers, John DiMarzio of Las Vegas, NV and Darren DiMarzio of Monticello, NY; several nieces, nephews and God Children. She was predeceased by her husband, Gurney W. Curtis on April 23, 2015, a sister, Diana DiMarzio, and brothers- in- law; Thomas Nolan, Joseph Calo, and Ed Edwards.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 5, 2025 at 9:30 AM in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Cor. of Broadway and Liberty Street, Monticello, NY. Father Bob Popora will officiate. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY.
Memorial contributions in Angela's name may be made to The Pallottine Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate 98 Harriman Heights Road Monroe, NY 10950.
