Charles Elmore

Charles Elmore of Downsville, NY a retired blue stone cutter and a lifelong area resident died Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Achieve Rehab. and Nursing Facility, Liberty, NY. He was 74.

The son of the late Charles and Joyce O’Dell Elmore, he was born July 17, 1951 in Walton, NY.

Charles loved to play pitch and cribbage; he was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting with Mitch, Rich and Bobby.

Survivors include four sons, David Elmore and his wife Tammy, Chris Elmore and his wife Kristen, Brian Elmore and his wife Traci all of Downsville, NY and Charlie Elmore and his wife Kimberly of Shinhopple, NY; his siblings, Robert Elmore and his wife Bonnie, Sharon Papas, Sandy Elmore, Debbie Parsons, and Carole Bogart; nine grandchildren, Lucas, Carson, Dakota, Emma, Christopher, Kailey, Paige, Darren and Natalie; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Norma Elmore; one daughter, Melissa Elmore of Downsville, NY; and one brother Jerry Elmore.

Memorial services will be in the Spring.
