Christopher Ottino

Christopher Brian Ottino of Parksville, NY, a lifelong area resident, was unexpectedly called to heaven on Thursday, December 29, 2016. Christopher was born on December 27, 1962 in Staten Island to Sandra Hurst and Albert Ottino. He was a talented and gifted carpenter by trade, always willing to lend a helping hand and share his expertise.

Chris lived his life to the beat of his own drum, "WORK HARD & PLAY HARDER"!

Christopher was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed snowmobiling at every opportunity. He had a love for the great outdoors; you could find him hiking, four-wheeling or gardening. He was a long time member of the Sutherland Hunting Camp.

He had a love for the English language, whether he was submerged in reading a book or playing a game of scrabble, Chris was always expanding his knowledge and willing to share with others the facts he had obtained. Everyone could count on Chris for a good laugh and a great story. He had a very humble and kind soul, and he was truly an all-around genuine guy.

Following school, Chris served in the US Army.

Chris is survived by his mother, Sandra Hurst of Eufaula, Alabama; his father, Albert Ottino of Liberty, New York; his step-mother, Karen Ottino; siblings, Michael Ottino and partner Donna Gibbons, Deborah Lingo and her husband Oran, Scott Ottino and his wife Ronda, and his little sis Kimberly Ottino ; his aunts, Brenda and Bill Galligan, Karen and Mike Gemmel, and Deloris Turner; his uncles, Robert and Robin Ottino and Buddy Hurst; Nieces and Nephews, Kasey and Paige Ottino, Seth Gibbons, Tiffany and Tyler Meader, his lifelong best friend Wayne Klein and many cousins and friends.

Chris was predeceased by his nephew Sammy Ottino-McKay and Aunt Patty Nicks.

He will be missed greatly by his family and his many good friends. He will hold a special place forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 4-6 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY. Funeral services and burial will take place at the convenience of the family.

The Ottino Family requests that memorial contributions in Christopher's name be made to the Sullivan County Veteran's Coalition P. O. Box 1527, Monticello, NY 12701.
