Dennis Banuat

Dennis Banuat of Obernberg, NY passed away Friday, March 13, 2026 at his home. He was 77.

Born on September 25, 1948, in Callicoon, NY, Dennis was the son of the late Roman and Ida Hust Banuat.

A lifelong resident of Obernberg, Dennis was deeply rooted in his community and devoted much of his life to service and hard work. For over 60 years, Dennis was a proud and dedicated member of the North Branch Fire Department, where he served as Fire Police. The fire department was a cornerstone of his life, and he cherished the camaraderie and sense of duty it brought.

Dennis spent many years working on the family dairy farm, a role he took great pride in; he was, at heart, a farmer through and through. Later, he continued his strong work ethic as a laborer with Hofer Log and Lumber.

He is survived by his cousins and many friends who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Philip Banuat.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 11AM to 1PM at the North Branch Fire House, North Branch, NY.

Firematic services will begin at 1:00 PM at the fire house. Burial will take place later in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery, North Branch, NY.
