Douglas Aaron Kautz

Douglas A. Kautz of North Branch, NY, a retired maintenance man from Frito Lay Co. and lifelong area resident, died Friday, September 11, 2026 at Garnet Health Hospital, Middletown, NY. He was 68.

The son of the late Harold and Mary Ann Jackson Kautz, he was born June 9, 1958 in Callicoon, NY.

Douglas loved to spend time with his grandsons. He was always tinkering on things of mechanics in his garage. He enjoyed cooking with his rotisserie and had a love for camping.

Survivors include his wife Maria Elizabeth Sandoval Diaz Kautz at home; his children, Steven Kautz and his fiancé Brady Hyde of Cochecton, NY, Terri Kautz of Callicoon Center, NY, Christina Kautz of Callicoon Center, NY, and Robin Reihner and her husband Zach of Pittsburgh, PA; his two grandsons, Aaron Kautz and Oliver Reihner; his brothers, Donald Kautz, Lawrence Kautz, Dennis Kautz, and Darrell Kautz; and his sisters, Judith Bradley and her husband Dean and Julie Anne Kimballe.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Grace Edington and his brothers, Brian Kautz and Dan Kautz.

Funeral services are being planned by the family for a future date.

Dignified cremation has been provided by Harris Crematorium, LLC.
