Dragan Mićić

Dragan Mićić was born on October 18, 1973, in Belgrade, Serbia, to Božidar Mićić and Bojana Milojević.

A man of exceptional intelligence, dignity, and depth, Dragan earned his Master of Public Administration degree from Columbia University. He devoted his professional life to international public service, serving as an international civil servant and diplomat with the United Nations. Throughout his career, he was deeply committed to the principles of diplomacy, justice, and service to others.

Beyond his distinguished professional achievements, Dragan was a thoughtful writer and poet, a man with a profound inner life and an extraordinary ability to express love, courage, and the human experience through words. He valued history, family, loyalty, and honor, and carried his Serbian heritage and the Mićić family name with immense pride.

Dragan faced life’s greatest challenges with remarkable strength, grace, and courage. Even through the most difficult years of his illness, he retained his dignity, his intellect, his sense of humor, and his extraordinary capacity to love.

Above all, Dragan was the beloved husband of Lidija Bubanja. Their marriage was defined by a deep and enduring love, devotion, friendship, and an unbreakable spiritual bond. He was not only her husband, but her closest companion, her greatest love, and the center of her life.

Dragan will be remembered for his brilliant mind, his noble character, his generosity, his eloquence, and the love he gave so fully and fearlessly. His earthly journey has ended, but his words, his legacy, and the love he left behind will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
