Fayellen Benton

Fayellen Benton of Ferndale, NY, a care giver and teaching assistant at The Center for Discovery since 1989 and a lifelong area resident died Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the Garnet Health Hospital in Harris, NY. She was 72.

The daughter of the late Harold and Bethyl Barrows Sheable she was born January 17, 1953 in Liberty, NY.

Fayellen enjoyed caring for her many pets.

Survivors include one brother, James Sheable of Indianapolis, IN; several cousins and nieces.

She is predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Benton.

Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2025 from 11 AM - 1 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 29, 2025 at 1 PM in the funeral home. The Rev. Joseph LeConey will officiate.

Dignified cremation was provided by the Harris Crematorium, LLC.

Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY.
