Harold Yodice

Harold "Harry" Yodice of Liberty, NY a retired firefighter for NYFD and a long-time area resident, died Friday, June 12, 2026 at his home. He was 71.

The daughter of the late Eric and Virginia Yodice, he was born June 5, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY.

Harry proudly served New York City as a firefighter during the events of September 11, 2001, exemplifying courage, dedication, and selfless service. Known for his reliability and willingness to help anyone in need, he left a lasting impact on the Liberty community. Harry devoted countless hours to Holy Harry's Food Pantry, helping it grow through his hands-on efforts, from ordering supplies to delivering food to those in need. He was also a proud member of Liberty Elks Lodge #1545 and will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to serving others.

Survivors include his wife Karla Groceanu Yodice, at home; two daughters, Jessica Hipp and her husband Larry and Amanda Swendsen and her husband Kevin; three grandchildren, LJ, Rylee, and Erik; two brothers, Robert Yodice and Paul Yodice; and many dear friends.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Eric Yodice and John Yodice.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 5 to 8 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. Funeral services and firematic services will begin at 8 PM in the funeral home. Rev. Walter Haff and Pastor Joseph LeConey will officiate.
