Helen Kwasinowicz of Willowemoc, NY, a retired nurse for the New York Infirmary, New York City, NY and a longtime area resident, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the Roscoe Regional Rehabilitation and RHCF, Roscoe, NY. She was 94.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa Turcina Vrablic, she was born June 2, 1918 in New York City, NY.

Helen was a communicant of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters; a member of the Sullivan County RSVP since 1983, serving on the Advisory Council and the Nutrition Program Council; named the RSVP Senior of the Year for the Town of Neversink; she spent many hours volunteering at Sullivan County Cornell Corporative Extension and in 2009 they recognized Helen for 51 years of service by naming her "Queen for a Day"; for many years she served a liaison between residents of Willowemoc and the Town of Neversink; she spent hours delivering surplus government food to senior citizens and other needy folks; she was a long standing member of the Calico Geese Quilters Club; in May of 2010 Helen was selected as a "Senior of the Year" and received a certificate at the NYS Senior Citizens Day for volunteering over 10,000 hours of her time; she was a member of the Tri-Valley Lions; a Town of Neversink Republican Committeeman; a charter member and trustee of the Time in the Valley Museum; a member of the Liberty Belles; and a 4-H volunteer for many years.

Survivors include one sister, Theresa Vrablic of Linden, NJ.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Kwasinowicz in 1980.

Visitation will be Thursday (Today), December 27, 2012 from 3-6 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Catholic Daughters will conduct services at 6 PM Thursday in the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Friday, December 28, 2012 at 12 Noon in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church 264 No. Main St. Liberty, NY. Monsignor Edward Straub will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Liberty, NY.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church 264 North Main Street, Liberty, NY 12754 or the Time in the Valley Museum PO Box 254 Grahamsville, NY 12740 or to the Roscoe Reg. Rehab & RHCF - Patient's Fund 420 Rockland Road Roscoe, NY 12776.
