Jaclene "Jackie" Poley

With broken hearts and tearful eyes, we announce the untimely passing of Jaclene “Jackie” Marie Poley, a vibrant soul who left this world far too soon on July 26, 2025, at the age of 36.

Jackie was born on January 23, 1989, to parents Bonnie Peters (Kevin) and Larry “Skeeter” Austin (Laurie) in Harris, New York. She was a graduate of Liberty High School and Winthrop College, and worked at the Jeff Bank for over ten years, most recently as their Marketing Coordinator.

Throughout her life, she made a lasting impact on those she met. Her husband, Chris, was her steadfast support, and together they shared a bond built on deep love, mutual respect, and memories that now feel even more precious.  As a wife and mother, Jackie filled her home with laughter, love, and thoughtful touches that made everyday moments feel extra special for her children, Genavieve and Jack. Whether it was adding a new favorite song to the car playlist, throwing a fun themed birthday party, picking out a fancy hair bow, coaching T- ball, or sharing a snuggly bedtime story, she always found ways to make her children feel loved. They were the light of her life, and she made sure they knew just how much they meant to her every single day.

As a daughter, Jackie was always involved in every aspect of her parents' lives and held an incredibly special bond with her mother. Sharing in both the big and little things, Jackie made sure that her parents and her children's lives were intertwined.

As a sister, she brought love, humor, and comfort — always the one who showed up with the perfect gift, a quick joke to make you smile, or simply an ear to listen.

As a friend, Jackie was generous with her time and her heart — ready to lift your spirits, share a laugh, brighten your day with a kind gesture, or give unfiltered honesty, and tough love when you needed it most.

Jackie leaves behind her husband, Christopher Poley; children, Genavieve Poley and Jack Poley; parents, Bonnie Peters (Kevin) and Larry “Skeeter” Austin (Laurie), father-in-law Thomas Poley (Marlene) and was predeceased by her mother-in-law Shirley Poley; siblings, Derek Austin, Dylan Peters (Kylie), Nicole Dirie, and Melanie Karkos (Nick), along with countless immediate family members, friends and loved ones who were blessed to know her.

Her life, though far too short, was rich with meaning. She was one of a kind, and her spirit will live on in the stories we tell and the lessons she left us. Jackie’s presence was a true gift, and her love left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know her.

Visitation will be Friday, August 1, 2025 from 4-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 11 AM in the funeral home.  Pastor Joseph LeConey will officiate. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs.
