Jesus Torres

Jesus R. Torres of Liberty, NY a plumber and long-time area resident, died Friday, May 19, 2023 at his home.  He was 77.

The son of the late Jesus R. Torres, Sr. and Estrella Rodriguez, he was born April 6, 1946 in Yauco, Puerto Rico.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Mathews-Torres, at home; two sons, Edward X. Torres and his wife Kristina of Houston, TX and Joseph Matthew Torres of Liberty, NY; two daughters, Natalie Torres of Houston, TX and Jamie Lee Mendoza and her husband Fredy of Liberty, NY; eight sisters, Nelida Torres, Ana M. Torres, Juanita Torres, Cieni Torres, Haydee Lopez, Betty Torres, Maria Torres, and Enid Torres; three brothers, Irving Torres, Antonio Torres and Richard Torres; nine grandchildren,; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by one daughter, Cynthia Torres; and two sisters, Carmen and Gladys.

Visitation will be Monday, June 5, 2023 from 2 to 4 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.  Funeral serviecs will begin at 4 PM in the funeral home.  The Rev. Dennis Cardena will officiate.
