Joann Boyd

Joann “JoJo” Boyd of White Sulphur Springs, NY, a Registered Nurse and a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, July 9, 2023 at the Roscoe Regional Rehab and Residential Healthcare Facility, Roscoe, NY.  She was 64.

The daughter of the late John W. and Irene Bilski Boyd, she was born October 30, 1958 in Liberty, New York.

Joann loved to read, shop, and cook. Her family and many friends were the center of her world, especially her great niece, Allie.  Joann was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years.  She worked at Middletown Medical in Ferndale, NY.  She was beloved and is greatly missed by her co-workers at Dr. Schwalb’s and Dr. Roth’s offices.  She loved being a nurse; it showed in her day-to-day interactions with patients.  Joann was always ready with a quick retort and a smile for those around her.

We take comfort in knowing Heaven has gained a new angel and we are all better for having had her in our lives.

She is survived by her sister, Patti Parisella of Youngsville, NY; her brother John Boyd and his wife Sylvia of Bridgeport, CT; her niece Nicole Parisella of Hurleyville, NY; her great niece Alexus Parisella of Grahamsville, NY; her nephew Jonathan Boyd of Bridgeport, CT; her uncle Ray Boyd; her aunt Elaine Bilski; several cousins; and Ben Kautz, who was like a son to her.

She was predeceased by one brother Donald Boyd; two sisters MaryAnne and Susan Boyd; and niece Kati Parisella.

Special thanks to the people who were a huge presence in Joann’s life; Rae Ellen, Laura, Lynne, Richie, and SueAnn.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11 AM in the St. Francis Catholic Church on Route 52 in Youngsville, NY.  Father Roland A. Raj, MMI will officiate.

Burial will be private at Calvary Cemetery in Youngsville, NY.
