John Emerson

John Warren Emerson died on Thursday, July 24, 2024 after a debilitating fight with cancer. He was 74 years old.

John was born the middle child to the late Basil “Red” and Nora Emerson in Oneida, NY and is survived by his sister, Lochie Emerson Musso and brother, B. David Emerson. Life brought him to Arizona, where he met his future wife and deepest love, Cathy Brown Emerson (Deceased March, 2012). They settled in Sullivan County, NY where they lived out the remainder of their lives. He is survived by his two children, Gregory John Emerson and Juliette C. Emerson and his nephews, Kenneth Emerson Musso and Jason William Musso (Netty).

John wore many hats during his 30 years of working in Sullivan County. From journalism to political campaign managing, marketing, bartending and finally judging at the Monticello Race Track, he was well known throughout the area. He will be sorely missed.

There are no services planned at this time. If desired, the family asks that donations be made to Cancer Research Organization, of one's choice.
