John K. O'Dell Sr.

John K. O’Dell Sr, 66, of Livingston Manor, NY passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones at Garnet Health Hospital in Harris, NY.

John was born June 4, 1959 to George and Joyce O’Dell at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie NY.

He was a generous man, devoted, loving, hardworking, and funny.

He had a love for the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were some of his hobbies he was able to share with his wife and children as he taught everyone. Being with family was always important to him. He taught himself to play guitar and he loved singing and playing country music. He adored his many pets that he had over the years. Cats seemed to find him any and everywhere he went. No matter how many times he said “No, we aren’t taking in anymore cats” they always made their way inside our home and usually because his big heart couldn’t turn them away. An animal lover for sure.

Survivors include his lifelong love, Kelley O’Connell-O’Dell; his children and grandchildren, John Jr his wife Jessica and their children Cameron, Brandon, Victoria and Kieran; Crystal and her husband Donnavan, their children Charles and Lilliana; Steven and his wife Melissa and their children Brianna, Steven Jr, and John; Patrick and his wife Shawna, their daughters Theresa and Cassandra; Stephanie and her children Kevin III, Leland, Sophia and Killian; his siblings Mary, Earl and Bill.  And his babies Tigger and Daddy cat.

He was predeceased by his brother Mike and sisters Linda, Cathy, and Carol as well as his parents.

As per his request there will be no services.
