Jose A. "Tony" Padial

Jose A. "Tony" Padial of Liberty, NY, a retired hospitality manager at several of the area hotels and a longtime area resident died Friday, July 31, 2026 at the Garnet Health Hospital in Harris, NY. He was 87.

The son of the late Enrique and Maria Elena Campanella Padial, he was born June 20, 1939 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Tony enjoyed his weekly time at the Liberty Senior Center, and was a Communicant of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Liberty, NY. He enjoyed bowling and fishing. He will be remembered as being a hard worker and his love of dogs. He loved to make people laugh, and you may have been asked in the aisles of a local grocery store “Excuse me? Do you have a driver’s license for that cart?”. He loved visiting the local gas station daily for his lotto tickets and conversation. His advice was "Family is the most important thing in Life".

Survivors include his loving wife, Antonia "Toni" Padial, whom he married on August 26, 1961; two sons, Ricky Padial and his wife Jan of Las Vegas, NV and Sal Padial and his wife Alice of Brooklyn, NY; two daughters, Adriana McGurk of Las Vegas, NV and Susie Wallgren and her husband Vinny of Liberty, NY; eleven grandchildren; Jason Quintas (Marisela), Brennan McGurk, James Padial, Amanda Wallgren (Sean), Jason Padial (Hanady), Brigit McGurk (Julian), Amber Currey (Mike), Ashley Jackson (Quinn), Patrick McGurk, Rick Padial, and Anthony Padial. He is also survived by a cherished group of great‑grandchildren he adored, as well as a large extended family of sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Tony was predeceased by his brother, Roberto Padial, and his son-in-law, Michael McGurk.

Visitation will be Friday, August 7, 2026 from 11:30 AM - 1 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 PM at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church 264 North Main Street, Liberty, NY. Father Edward Bader will officiate.

Dignified cremation will be provided by Harris Crematorium, LLC.
