Joseph B. Schulte

Joseph Bernard Schulte of Roscoe, NY a retired Technician for IBM and a life long area resident died Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Delaware Valley Skilled Nursing and Rehab. Facility, Matamoras, PA. He was 85.

The son of the late Joseph and Josephine Sanwald Schulte, he was born May 24, 1939 in New York State.

Joe attended Roscoe Central School; he was a member of the 1956 Championship Baseball team. He graduated as Valedictorian from Roscoe in 1957 and then went to Manhattan College. He had worked for IBM for 30 years. Joe was a past treasurer for Roscoe Kiwanis Club; was on the Board of Governors for the Twin Village Golf Club and played in the Monday Night Men’s League.

Joe was the "go to person" for computer problems. He also taught classes to people. He loved attending sporting events for Roscoe School and his family members. He loved to attend football, baseball and basketball games for his nieces and nephews. Joe loved visiting family; he and his companion, Mary Regan, were actively involved in the lives of family members. Joe loved to be surrounded by children.

Survivors include his brother, Ronald Schulte of Roscoe, NY; one niece, Veronica DePolito and her husband Ernie of Greenville, NY and their children, Matthew, Ernest IV and Elizabeth; two nephews, Ronald Schulte and his wife Kelly of Latham, NY and their children, Justin, Alexa and Lauren and Brian Schulte and his wife Rebecca of Milford, CT and their children Grady and Brody; his close friend, Regina Regan; and many cousins.

Joe’s family would like to thank Natalya Teplov from the Residential Hospice Foundation in PA for her overwhelming support during this most difficult time in his life, they appreciate her and others like Natalya for their dedication and professionalism.

Visitation will be Monday, September 2, 2024 from 12 Noon to 2 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, September 2, 2024 at 2:30 PM in St. Aloysius Church, Church Street, Livingston Manor, NY. Father Antony David will officiate.

Dignified cremation provided by Harris Crematorium LLC; burial of Joe’s cremains will be with his parents at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Livingston Manor, NY. Memorial contributions in Joseph’s name may be made to Roscoe Kiwanis Club, PO Box 255, Roscoe, NY 12776 or to The Residential Hospice Foundation, 50 Glenmaura National Blvd 202, Moosic, PA 18507.
