Kathryn Anne Wowk

Kathryn Anne Wowk of Youngsville, NY, a front desk receptionist at the Villa Roma in Callicoon, NY and a longtime area resident died Thursday, December 4, 2025 at the Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown, NY. She was 56.

The daughter of the late Robert and Cynthia Smith Nelson, she was born March 7, 1969 in Newark, NJ.

Kathryn had participated in many pageants for the awareness of PKD. She was an avid enthusiast of the Wizard of Oz. She enjoyed dancing, singing, riding horses, and spending time with family and friends. She is at peace, no longer suffering from Polycystic Kidney Disease.

Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey T. Wowk at home; her brother, Robert Nelson of NJ; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; her mother and father-in-law, Peter and Carmen Wowk; and her best friend, Bernadette McAuliff.

At this time, the family is celebrating Kathryn’s life privately and planning a Celebration of Life service.

Dignified cremation will be provided by the Harris Crematorium, LLC.
