In Loving Memory of Lillian Lynn Kowalik
Lillian Lynn Kowalik, aged 60, passed away peacefully at her residence in Liberty, New York, on October 3, 2026.
Lillian was born on January 16, 1966, at Cape Cod General Hospital in Hyannis, Massachusetts, alongside her twin brother, George.
At just six months old, she moved with her family to Newburgh, New York. She spent her early teen years there, raised by her father, surrounded by her brothers Mike Jr. and George, her grandparents Roman and Helen Kowalik, and her Uncle Ray and Aunt Judith Kowalik.
A long-time resident of Sullivan County, Lillian dedicated many years of her life to being a devoted housekeeper and homemaker. She was an incredibly social soul who truly made friends wherever she went. Lillian loved nothing more than sitting, talking, and connecting with people. She had a huge heart, a generous spirit, and would always do whatever she could for her family or anyone in need.
Family meant everything to Lillian. She cherished every moment spent with her children, their spouses, and her beloved grandchildren. Her deep faith in God brought her great comfort throughout her life. Among her favorite pastimes, Lillian loved doing arts and crafts. She also found immense joy in taking her scooter out fishing with her close friend, Mike Borowski, a tradition always happily followed by cheeseburgers at McDonald's.
Lillian is survived by her sons, Justin Flores and his wife Peggy, Josh Flores, and Jesse Flores, whom she shared with Manuel Flores.
She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Dennis, Skyler, Bristol, Arianna, Levi, and Maddie Flores.
She is also survived by her father, Michael Kowalik, and stepmother, Toni Jean of Spring Hill, Florida; her brothers, George (her twin), Mike, Doug, and Edison; her step-sister, Melissa Short, and nephew Mateo; and her best friends who were like family to her, Shannon Dee Bailey and her husband Shawn, Ruth Maxwell, and Jackie Puzior.
Lillian was reunited in peace with those who passed before her: her mother, Ellen Dunbar; her daughter-in-law, Melissa; and her grandson, Danny.
Lillian's Service will be on Saturday, October 24 at 3pm at the Fremont Center Community Church 36 Hankins Road in Fremont Center, NY 12736
