Lori D. Sanders

Lori D. Sanders of Loch Sheldrake, NY, a homemaker and longtime area resident died Sunday, October 29, 2023 at home surrounded by her loved ones.  She was 63.

The daughter of the late George L. and Guilia L. Allen Meyer, she was born February 24, 1960 in Paterson, New Jersey.

Lori was an amazing loving woman who loved unconditionally. She was married to her husband Leonard for 45 years, 7 of those years were without him by her side. She didn't go to work everyday, but instead took on the roll of caring for all her grandchildren while her children worked, because they are the greatest loves of her life. She had over 30 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren!  She never missed a moment shared to say I love you to them and everyone in her life.  Lori spent most days,  sitting out on the porch with her friends and family listening to the oldies or talking and sharing laughs. She would feed the birds and had a bucket of peanuts just to feed the squirrels each individually.  She always said she didn't like animals but would help take care of them and give them love in secret. Her favorite times of year were Halloween and Christmas.  She enjoyed the decorating, family time, laughs and smiles that came with it. Every year she made hundreds of bags of candy for kids on Halloween and sat to hand it out till every bags was gone just to see the smiles and joy of every child, teen, and adult that came. Christmas time she always went all out and decorated every open space inside and outside, even her husband's deer heads were given wreaths of garland. She made the best homemade stuffing that only she was allowed to make on Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas.  Anyone who came into her life instantly became family. She loved everyone with her whole heart and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by three sons, Brandon Sanders of Grahamsville, NY, Tracy Sanders of Fallsburg, NY, and Matthew Sanders of South Fallsburg, NY; four daughters, Christina Fidecaro and her husband Thomas of Loch Sheldrake, NY, Anette Beach of South Fallsburg, NY, Danielle Curry and her husband Robert of Monticello, NY, and Tiffany Sanders of Ellenville, NY; several step-sons; two brothers John A. Meyer and his wife Rosa of Mill Hill, PA and Eric P. Meyer, Sr. of Anniston, AL; her daughter-in-law Gloria Sanders of Grahamsville, NY; and her cherished thirty grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Sanders, her three brothers, Guy L., Michael R., and Gregory P. Meyer, and her sister, Georgianna L. Gerlitz.
