Maria Jucha

Maria Jucha of Grahamsville, NY a retired cafeteria worker at SUNY Sullivan and a long time area resident, died Monday, October 13, 2025 at her home. She was 87.

The daughter of the late Piotr and Jozefa Klekawka Uciechowski, she was born August 15, 1938 in Kalusz, Poland.

Maria was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, putting puzzles together and cooking.

Survivors include her sons, Peter Jucha of Grahamsville, NY and Theodore Jucha and his wife Cassandra of Grahamsville, NY; her daughter, Elizabeth Loarca and her husband Cesar of Hurleyville, NY; five grandchildren, Violeta, Elizabeth, Tadeusz, Nicholas, and Noah.

She was predeceased by her husband, Tadeusz “Teddy” Jucha in 2021; and her brother, Boleslaw Uciechowski.

A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 1 PM in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Woodbourne, NY. Burial will follow in the Woodbourne Cemetery. Father Thomas will officiate.
