Martin Meyer

Martin Anthony Meyer, 86, of Obernburg, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, at UHS Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton, NY.

Martin was born on September 29, 1939, in Roscoe; he was the beloved son of Charles Meyer and Catherine (Herbert) Meyer.

Martin was known for his humor, dedication, and strong work ethic. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him with his kindness, wisdom, and unforgettable personality. He worked as an equipment operator before moving to the position of Town of Fremont Superintendent, and throughout his life remained passionate about farming, work horses, and tractors — especially his favorite, the John Deere Model B.

Above all else, Martin cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Louise; his children, Daniel (Regina) Meyer, John Meyer, and Bonnie (Robert) Sykes; and his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Megan (Paul) Hendershot and their children, Willow and Faith Hendershot; Martin Meyer and his children, Mason and Logan Meyer; Danielle Meyer; and Katlyn (Russell Mootz) Meyer and their children, Maverick and Tripp Mootz. Martin also leaves behind his sister, Patricia Kellam, and her husband Harold. Along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Charles Meyer; his siblings, Robert Meyer and Kathleen Meyer; his daughter, Cindy Meyer; and great-granddaughter, Elora Hendershot.

A visitation will be held on May 14, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Roscoe, NY.

Martin will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
