Matthew J. Mauldin

Matthew J. Mauldin, of Poughkeepsie, New York, a Senior Third-Party Risk Management Analyst with NBT Bank and a devoted community volunteer, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the age of 39.

Born on January 28, 1987, in Cleveland, Ohio, Matthew was the son of Bridget Romanelli Mauldin and Randolph Mauldin Jr.

Matthew built a respected career with NBT Bank, where he was known for his professionalism, integrity, and genuine care for others. Beyond his career, he was passionate about serving his community and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around him.

A dedicated volunteer, Matthew generously gave his time to Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Dutchess County Regional Chamber Foundation. As a member of the Leadership Dutchess Class of 2025, he helped raise more than $40,000 to support the Foundation's mission. Inspired by that experience, he returned as a mentor for the Youth Leadership Program, encouraging local high school students to develop confidence, leadership skills, and a commitment to community service. He also served as Co-Chair of the Hudson Valley Young Professionals Committee. His kindness, welcoming spirit, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Matthew treasured time with his family and friends and had a lifelong love of music. An accomplished drummer, he proudly performed with the bands Faezon and Twilight November. Whether he was behind the drum set or attending concerts with those he loved, music brought him joy and created countless cherished memories.

Matthew is survived by his wife, Christine Wright; his stepchildren, Cayden Wright and Evangeline Wright; his parents, Randolph Mauldin Jr. and Bridget Romanelli Mauldin; and many extended family members, dear friends, colleagues, fellow musicians, and members of the community whose lives he touched.

Memorial services are being planned and will be announced at a later date.
