Michael H. “Dunnigan” Bury of Roscoe, NY, a retired NYS Correctional Officer at Sullivan Correctional Facility and a lifelong area resident, died Friday, January 15, 2021 at Westchester County Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. He was 63.
The son of the late Walter H. and Joyce C. Lake Bury, he was born September 10, 1957 in Liberty, NY.
Mike was a past chief and lifetime member of the Roscoe-Rockland Fire District; a former commissioner of the Roscoe-Rockland Fire Department; a member of the Kinch Hill Hunting Club; and an avid New York Giants fan. He loved his family; his grandchildren meant the world to him.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Bury of Livingston Manor, NY; his son, Walter “Butch” Bury and his fiancée Kristine Ruperto of Jeffersonville, NY; his daughters, Natasha “Nosh” Bury and her husband Angelo Rivera of Cape Coral, FL, Nadine “Dino” Bury of Livingston Manor, NY, Natalie “Nat” McBride and her husband Robert of Roscoe, NY, and Michaleen “Mick” Ladenhauf and her husband Dan of Roscoe, NY; 13 grandchildren, Angelo, Anthony, Alyza, Ashlee, Aidan, Leah, Adam, Aubree, Brody, Bryce, Baylee, Aj, and Adrian; two brothers, James Bury and his wife Kathi of TX and Gary Bury and his fiancée Lisa Darbee of Livingston Manor, NY; one sister, Brenda Bury and her husband Marc Bernosky of Grand Island, NY; sister-in-law, Trini Bury of Roscoe, NY; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
Visitation will be Friday, January 22, 2021 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY. Past chiefs of the Roscoe-Rockland Fire Department will conduct firematic services at 7 PM. Social distancing guidelines must be met, a limited number of people at one time will be allowed in the funeral home, facemasks are required. We ask that if you are not feeling well, please do not attend.
Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY.
