Michael Taylor

Michael Taylor of North Branch, NY, a retired garbageman and longtime area resident, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown, NY. He was 68 years old.

The son of the late Joseph John Taylor and Dorothy Jean Kelly, he was born on March 4, 1958, in Brooklyn, NY.

Michael was an avid history buff who loved to keep busy, whether making things with his hands or tending to his lawn. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of family, and his willingness to help others.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Karen Ann Taylor, on July 5, 2026; his sister, Maureen Taylor-Pullman (Rick); his sister, Jaime; and his brother-in-law, Thomas O’Connell (Jesse).

Michael is survived by his sons, Thomas Johnson; Michael Taylor (Myrna); Ryan Taylor; John Taylor (Jen); and Brenden Taylor (Maggie). He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Maddy, Maisie, Jack, Sonny, and Miles.

He is further survived by his siblings, Carolynne Taylor-Peters (Bob), Brian Taylor (Karen) and Kelly Smith (Fred); his loving sisters- and brothers-in-law, Kathy (Mike) Richard, Robert (Mary), Jean Marie, and Christine. He was a loving cousin, uncle and friend.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home, West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. George’s Roman Catholic Church, Jeffersonville, NY. Father Roland A. Raj, MMI, will officiate. Burial will follow at Callicoon Center Cemetery, Callicoon Center, NY.
