Nicole Jessica Gardner of Downsville, NY a lifelong area resident died Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at home.

The daughter of Glenn W. and Anna B. Terry Mattice, she was born January 9, 1988 in Oneonta, NY.

Nicole was a retail clerk for the Downsville Country Store. She enjoyed diamond art, painting, and completing puzzles.

Survivors include her children, Lana Rose Gardner and James Gardner of Downsville, NY; her parents, Anna “Betsy” and Glenn Mattice of Downsville, NY; three brothers, Mike Mattice of Walton, NY, Brian Mattice and his wife Angie of Delhi, NY, and Bradley Skinner and his wife Jenna of Hawaii; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At this time, Nicole’s family is celebrating her life privately.
