Paul L. Decker, III of Livingston Manor, NY, the Outlaw Radio Personality “Redneck Decker”, died Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Garnet Health Hospital in Middletown, NY. He was 63.
The son of Beverly A. Soules Decker and the late Paul L. Decker, Jr., he was born June 20, 1962 in Liberty, NY.
Paul had worked as a Town of Rockland Constable before being hired by the Village of Liberty Police Department, after a short time he left to take a position with the City of Middletown Police Department. While radio was his real passion, he began a stellar career, working with others radio personalities like Don Imus. He grew into a unique announcer with a longtime career at WVOS in Liberty. He received the Tri-State Country Music Association (TSCMA) Radio Personality of the Year Award three consecutive years. He will be remembered for his red bandanas, his very generous gifting to children and the poor. He had been a member of the Livingston Manor Lions Club.
Survivors include his mother, Beverly A. Soules Decker of Livingston Manor, NY; two sisters, Kim Heinle and her husband Kevin of White Sulphur Springs, NY and Jodi Lynn Moran and her husband Jim of Jeffersonville, NY; one aunt, Patricia Wolcott of Livingston Manor, NY; two nieces, Katie and Jamie; two nephews, Sam and Joey.
Memorial service will be Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 3 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY. Lay reader Ralph Bressler will officiate.
Dignified cremation will be provided by Harris Crematorium, LLC.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, American Heart Assoc., American Diabetes Assoc., or any Veteran’s group.
