Phyllis Cox

Phyllis Cox of Livingston Manor, NY a lifelong area resident, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Achieve Rehab. and Nursing Facility, Liberty, NY. She was 81.

The daughter of the late Arthur C. and Jeanne Miller Pierpoint, she was born April 16, 1945 in Lew Beach, NY.

Phyllis dedicated 30 years of service to Sullivan County BOCES. For the first 20 years, she worked as a teacher's assistant, where she found great joy in helping students learn and grow. During her final 10 years, she warmly welcomed all who entered as the clerk at the front desk, forming many lasting friendships with colleagues along the way. She truly cherished her work and the relationships she built throughout the years.

In her free time, Phyllis found her greatest happiness at home. She took pride in tending her beautiful flower gardens, relaxing by her swimming pool, and creating countless treasured memories with family and friends. Known for her generous heart and kind spirit, Phyllis was always willing to lend a helping hand to those she loved. Her warmth, compassion, and unwavering kindness touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Survivors include her daughters, Kim Tompkins of Williamstown, SC and Janine Roser and her husband Jim of Livingston Manor, NY; her brother, Glen Pierpoint of Cottageville, SC; one granddaughter, Jessica Roser of Appalachia, NY; one grandson, Paden Roser of Livingston Manor, NY; one great granddaughter, Evelyn Roswer; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur Tompkins; and her second husband, Marvin Cox; and one son, David Tompkins; and one brother, Mark Pierpoint.
