Raymond E. Cottman of Swan Lake, NY, an Assistant House Manager for New Hope Community in Loch Sheldrake, NY and a longtime area resident, died Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at the Garnet Health Hospital, Harris, NY. He was 45.
The son of Marion Cottman and Robert Brice, he was born July 4, 1981, in Manhattan, NY.
Raymond found joy in singing, bringing laughter to those around him, fishing, cake decorating, and playing video games. He had a passion for collecting knives, anime, watches, and anything superhero, embracing the many unique interests that made him who he was. Raymond also had a special place in his heart for his community, sharing his time and passion by coaching Pee-Wee cheerleading for the Town of Liberty Parks and Recreation. He deeply cared for the people around him and made a lasting impact on his community through his kindness, generosity, and the connections he built with others. He was loved by many, surrounded by family and friends whose lives were touched by his presence, and will be remembered by countless people who were fortunate enough to know him. His laughter, love for others, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife Lisa Belfiore Cottman at home; three daughters, Maleiah Drayton of Liberty, NY, Rayanna Cottman of Swan Lake, NY, and Aryiah Cottman of Swan Lake, NY; one son, Raymond Cottman, Jr. of Swan Lake, NY; his mother, Marion Cottman of Bronx, NY; his father Robert Brice of Georgia; eight brothers, Anthony Smith, Maurice Cottman, Winston Cottman, Andre Fuller, Kevin Fuller, Kenroy Fuller, Corey Artis, and Michael Brice; three sisters, Ieasha Smalls, Lynette Turner, and Monique Campbell; a grandson, Dilshan Don Sonnadarage; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Belfiore; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 11, 2026 from 2 PM to 6 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 12, 2026 at 10 AM in the funeral home, West St at Buckley, Liberty, NY. The Reverend Dr. Harry Brown will officiate.
Dignified cremation will be provided by Harris Crematorium, LLC.
