Rita M. Boyd

Rita M. Boyd of Liberty, NY, a home maker and a longtime area resident, died Friday, February 2, 2024 at her home.  She was 98.

The daughter of the late Michael and Mary O'Toole Casey, she was born January 6, 1926 in Scranton, PA.

Rita had been a Communicant of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Liberty, NY.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Boyd and his wife Jill of Orangeville, PA and Brian Boyd and his wife Ann of Liberty, NY; one daughter, Mary Kortright and her husband Dale of Liberty, NY; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson; a son-in-law, Jim Perkins of CA; her son Terry's companion, Cindy Northrop of Liberty, NY; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Candy Perkins, a son Terry Boyd, a brother, Jerome Casey, and two sisters, Eileen Hancock and Marilyn Ruane.

Visitation will be Friday, February 9, 2024 from 10:45 AM until 11:45 AM in the Harris Funeral Home, West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 9, 2024 at 12 Noon at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church 264 North Main Street, Liberty, NY.  Father Edward Bader will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery Cold Spring Road, Liberty, NY.
