Robert Paul Bonsick

Robert Paul Bonsick, known by all as Bob, a long-time Liberty, NY resident, died unexpectedly on Wednesday January 14th, 2026 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. He was 80 years old. Son of the late Genevieve and Edward Bonsick, Bob was born at home on April 12, 1945 in Scranton, PA.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Ruth, devoted sons Dan (Kelly) and Dave, his four amazing grandchildren Courtney, Andrew, Ashley and Colleen who he loved very much, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by two infant sons and two infant daughters who passed away at birth, brothers Edward, John, Joseph, Ronald, and sister Eleanore.

Bob had a successful 40+ year career as a supermarket manager, working at locations across the Hudson Valley, the Catskills and Northeast PA for companies like Great American, Shop Rite, Stop and Shop, A and P and Giant Markets. He proudly served in the US Army Reserve for 6 years.

In his spare time, Bob was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching many different sports and teams, rooting passionately for the Yankees, Giants and Syracuse. He loved going to live sports events, having taken in many Yankees and Giants games. He enjoyed golf, including trips with his sons to Myrtle Beach.

Out of respect for Bob’s wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of his family.

Dignified cremation will be provided by the Harris Crematorium, LLC.
