Roberta Demming

Roberta Demming of Liberty, NY, a long-time area resident died peacefully Thursday, May 29, 2025 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 78.

The daughter of the late Howard and Arvilla Marshall Bilyou, she was born April 17, 1947 in Liberty, NY.

Roberta had been a chambermaid at the Grand Ole Opry Hotel in Nashville, TN before retiring.

Survivors include her loving husband, William E. Demming at home; two sons, Alan Christoff of Seattle, WA and Timothy Christoff of Hawaii; one brother, Howard Bilyou with his wife Waneta of Garfield, AR; a granddaughter, Alyssa Georgette Christoff; a grandson, Austin Nicholas Abrahamsen; two great-grandchildren, Maliah and Aaron Abrahamsen; and several cousins, nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by two sons, Todd Christoff and William Christoff; her sisters, Elizabeth Nestle, Annabelle Pelton, Arain Darling, and Margaret McIntosh; and her dear friend, Shirley Bush.

Visitation will be Monday, June 2, 2025 from 1-2 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 2, 2025 at 2 PM in the funeral home.

Dignified cremation will be provided by the Harris Crematorium, LLC.
