Shirley Jersey of Liberty, NY, a homemaker and a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 86.

The daughter of the late Harold and Mildred Owen Hodge, she was born August 6, 1924 in Grooville, NY.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred D. Jersey, at home; two daughters, Charlotte Warfield and her husband Merle of Rimrock, AZ and Darlene Fenescey and her companion Tim Leto of Norwich, NY; three sons, Robert Loucks and his wife Carolyn of Cooks Falls, NY, Donald Loucks and his wife Sue of Rimrock, AZ and Stan Loucks and his wife Judy of Scottsdale, AZ; her sister-in-law, Emily Hodge of Livingston Manor, NY; a step daughter, Helen Jersey of Monticello, NY; eighteen grandchildren, several step grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Jerry Loucks; two brothers, Melvin Hodge and Donald Hodge; and two sons, Tom and Daniel Loucks.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the employees at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center for the kindness and care provided to Shirley during her illness.

Private visitation was held at the Harris Funeral Home West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services and burial will be private in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Liberty, NY.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Sullivan County Adult Care Center- Family Council, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY 12765.
