Steven Freestone, Sr.

Steven J. Freestone, Sr. of Parksville, NY a retired machinist for Techni-Edge of Little Ferry, NJ and a longtime area resident died Monday, December 4, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was 73.

The son of the late Kenneth R., Sr. and Anne Oates Freestone, he was born July 20, 1950 in Paterson, NJ.

Steve proudly served our country in the US Army from 1968 to 1972; he was a Lifetime member of the Elmwood Park, NJ VFW Post # 5084, a former member of the Liberty Volunteer Ambulance Corp. for over twenty years, and he had worked part-time at the Super Suds Car Wash in Liberty, NY.  He enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife Judi Cappuccio Freestone, at home; two sons, Steven and his wife Melissa of Liberty, NY and Scot and his wife Jen of Middletown, NY; two daughters, Laura and her husband Nathaniel of Utica, NY and Sharon and her husband Jason of Liberty, NY; six grandchildren, Gabriela, Maggie, Caleb, Noah, Jacob and Eli; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Friday, December 8, 2023 from 11 AM to 1 PM and 4 PM to 7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 10 AM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. 

Burial with military honors will be in the Sullivan County Veteran’s Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
