Teresa Blume

Teresa Blume of Liberty, NY, a retired Health Aide for Wellness Health Care in Monticello, NY and a long-time area resident died on Monday, December 22, 2025 at St. Joseph's Place at Bon Secor Hospital in Port Jervis, NY where she was receiving temporary medical care and rehabillitation services. She was 74; soon to be 75 years old.

The daughter of the late Walter and Ann Saweykis Oleszko, she was born on December 30, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY.

Teresa was a very loving, kind and giving woman. Many would describe her as being one of the sweetest women they have ever met! She was so brave! She had the kindest soul and was of the most gentle nature. She lived a simple and quiet life. She didn't like being the center of attention. She was beautiful inside and out. She was faithful and very devoted to her husband and family. She loved her children, their spouses and families, grandchildren, great grandchildren and everyone she knew. She believed in seeing the good in everyone and kept her faith in our creator that one day the evil of this world will be no more and we will live in peace and with hearts full of love for one another.

She was a great mother and supportive friend. She liked to donate to charities even if she only had $1. She is one of the strongest women we've been blessed to know. She always did her best despite her struggles which were many. She Loved animals! Especially her little "smoochie poochie" Luna. She's had many pets over the years and each one of them she loved wholeheartedly and cared for as if they were another child to her.

She loved listening to and occasionally "blasting" the BG's, Englebert Humperdink, and John Denver music. She enjoyed watching detective shows, murder mysteries and lifetime movies. Her favorite perfume was White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor and she would light up everytime she would put it on. Her second favorite perfume was Fendi. She loved to and was always helping others even on the days she couldn't help herself. She was always there when you needed her, and she never asked for much. She loved spending time with her family and having family dinners together.

She enjoyed car rides especially with mountain views and getting dressed up to go on small shopping trips. She loved having dinner at Red Lobster and Olive Garden. Her favorite place to eat was and remained Ponderosa, which we all missed when they closed. She enjoyed cross word searches and puzzles. She enjoyed having conversations on the phone and also playing games. She loved cooking and baking especially with her children and grandchildren.

She believed in natural remedies and healing herbs and would always read up and share information with her loved ones to try and keep us healthy. She loved to read. She would dress up and play barbies with her granddaughter Bianna Meyer all the time! She even kept the tradition of doing Highlight puzzle picture search books with her grandchildren. She had a great imagination and loved so much to pretend play with the children. She was a survivor and a fighter.

She had an amazing sense of humor! She lobed making others laugh. A passionate and fiery personality! Despite how she may have felt especially during hard times she never gave up, even to the very end! She was loved and appreciated by so many. She really made a positive difference in so many lives even if she didnt think she did enough, she did more than enough! She had a way of lighting up those she'd meet. Her family was her world. It brought her true joy when she could give to those she loved and to those in need.

She always wanted to do more and had hoped to. There is so much she had hoped to still do and get to see and we had so many plans to live out together but all she really wanted was for those she loved; her husband and children and the entire families to always be well and stay united as a family. The health, safety, and happiness of her family, friends, and those she loved has always been a priority to her.

She will always be loved and remembered for her genuine kindness, giving, loving and helpful spirit; which will continue to live on with each one us! She is now at peace and we will forever love and cherish all that she was and still is to us for the rest of our lives.
