Terrence "Terry" J. Kelly

Terrence J. "Terry" Kelly of White Sulphur Springs, NY, a civil engineer and lifelong area resident died Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at his home. He was 76.

The son of the late Leo and Rita Moser Kelly, he was born November 7, 1948 in Liberty, NY.

Terry was a Communicant of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Liberty, NY where he was a Eucharistic Minister and former CCD teacher.

After completing high school in Liberty, he graduated from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and then served four years in the US Air Force. Post service he graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in civil engineering. He then returned to Liberty and established Kelly Engineering. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Sullivan County Country Club for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Matthew Kelly and his wife Katie of Annapolis, MD and Adam Kelly and his wife Raissa of Pittsford, NY; three grandchildren, Madison, Grant and Megan; one brother, Timothy Kelly and his wife Carol of Liberty, NY; sisters-in-law Rae Ann Kelly, Flora Francisco, and Judy Goldsmith; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Elaine E. Grant Kelly on Jan. 30, 2025, and a brother, Thomas Kelly.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 4 -7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. 

A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be Celebrated Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 10 AM in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 264 No. Main Street, Liberty, NY. Father Edward Bader will officiate.

Burial with military honors will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY.
