V. Robert “Bob” Steele of Hurleyville, NY, formerly of Livingston Manor, NY, a retired heavy equipment mechanic and member of the Operating Engineers Local #825 in Newburgh, NY and a life long area resident, died Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his home.  He was 75.

The son of the late Theodore and Mildred Gorr Steele, he was born August 13, 1942 in Livingston Manor, NY.

Bob served Our Country in the US Air Force, loved the outdoors, nature and spending time with his family.  He was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle and companion.

Survivors include his daughter, Dr. Luann Steele and her companion Todd Simpson of Swan Lake, NY; his devoted companion, Diane Lee of Hurleyville, NY; his brother, Luther Steele and his wife Genevieve of Livingston Manor, NY; two beloved granddaughters, Sophie and Layla Wilkin of Swan Lake, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Sandra Steele; two sisters, Marion Welton and Agnes Dreher; and two brothers, Raymond and Alfred Steele.

Visitation will be Tuesday November 14, 2017 from 1 to 3 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 3 PM in the funeral home.  The Rev. Duane Steele will officiate.

Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Roscoe, NY.

Memorial contributions in Bob’s name may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
