William "Bill" J. Norris

William J. "Bill" Norris of Youngsville, NY, a retired Install Repairman for Verizon and a lifelong area resident died Sunday, October 5, 2025 at the Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was 85.

The son of the late Russell and Mary George Norris, he was born November 24, 1939 in Liberty, NY.

Bill is member and former Secretary/Treasurer of the Youngsville Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners; he is a Life Member of the Youngsville Fire Department; a member of the Stony Brook Hunting Club and a member of the Sullivan County Sportsman Federation. He enjoyed spending time with his family, morning coffee with friends and afternoon rides with his brother, Paul. He cherished the time he had "keeping up with his grandchildren" and was an avid NY Yankee fan.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen A. Peters of Clifton Park, NY; six grandchildren, Mackenzie Diaz and her husband Jose of Monticello, NY, Ryan Norris of Youngsville, NY, Erin Peters of Wilmington, NC, Anne Peters of Wilmington, NC, Hayley Norris of Youngsville, NY and Mary Kate Norris of Youngsville, NY; two sisters, Eleanor Rose of Livingston Manor, NY and Cathy Keator and her husband Colan of Briscoe, NY; one brother, Paul Norris and his wife Carol of Briscoe, NY; sister-in-law, Claudia Davidson of Briscoe, NY and brother-in-law Greg Bryan and his wife Meg of Youngsville, NY, one daughter-in-law , Jennifer Norris of Youngsville, NY; two great grandchildren, Daniel Diaz and Lucas Diaz; several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his wife Patricia E. Bryan Norris in 2018, a son, Todd Norris in 2011, brothers-in-law, Jim Rose and George Davidson and one nephew, Jody Fisk.

Visitation will be Thursday October 9, 2025 from 4-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Firematic services will be conducted by the Youngsville Firefighters Thursday evening at 7 PM in the funeral home.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 10, 2025 at 10 AM in the funeral home. Pastor Ginny Bossley will officiate.

Burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery, Youngsville, NY.
