Amanda Decker Armstead

Amanda Decker Armstead of Glen Allen, VA formerly of Roscoe, NY, passed away, Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest Campus, Richmond, VA. She was 41.

The daughter of Dawn Houck Decker and the late Michael Decker, she was born November 8, 1981 in Walton, NY.

Amanda was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and granddaughter; she was a Registered Nurse and worked at the Henrico Doctors' Hospital, Parham Campus in Virginia; she enjoyed spending time at the beach, it was her happy place.  She will be missed by all who loved her. Amanda was also a beloved sister of the Gamma Sigma Sigma National Sorority out of Utica University and affectionately known to her sisters as Dexter. Her sorority sisters loved and adored "Dexter."

Survivors include her husband, Ellan Armstead, at home; her mother, Dawn Houck Decker of Roscoe, NY; one brother, Duane Edelglass and his wife Melissa of TX; three sisters, Megan Decker and her significant other, Sheryl Pinder of Liberty, NY, Erin Decker of NC, and Justine Decker and her significant other Peter Hover of Selkirk, NY; two daughters, Jaida Lewis of Pine Bush, NY and her father Kevin Lewis; and Zoey Armstead of Glen Allen, VA; her maternal grandmother, Janice Gladstone of Walton, NY; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, Michael Decker; her maternal grandfather, Raymond Houck, Jr.; and her paternal grandparents, Mildred and Robert Decker.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 4 to 7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.  Graveside services and burial will follow at the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY.
