Bernard Jones

Bernard K. Jones of Liberty, NY, a retired Production Foreman for American Bakery in Queens, NY, died Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Garnet Health Medical Center, Harris, NY.  He was 85.

The son of the late Claudius and Eva Hoke Jones, he was born July 20, 1936 in Mount Hope, WV.

Bernard worked for American Bakery in Queens, NY for 36 years.  Before working in the bakery, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was active in the Sullivan County Veterans Affairs and a member of the Wurtsboro American Legion Post 1266.

Survivors include his wife, Maryann Navarro Jones of Liberty, NY; his son, Keith Jones of Wurtsboro, NY; his daughters, Debra Megahed of Beacon, NY and Michelle Dodhia of GA; his sisters Kathy Medina of WV and Joyce Robinson of OK; his brother, Rodney Jones and his wife Vicky of WV; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be private.

Memorial contributions in Bernard’s name may be made to the charity Sullivan County Veterans Coalition.
