Daniel "Ted" Alver

Daniel T. Alver, beloved husband and dad and long-time resident of Parksville, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.  He was 65.

The son of the late David Kenneth and Mary Kate Alver, he was born on August 29, 1955 in Port Jefferson, NY.  Daniel, known to those closest to him as “Ted”, was a self-employed cable sweep technician who took pride in his work both professional and recreational and made many friends in his travels. He loved his family tremendously and enjoyed their vacations and travelling across country. Ted loved the beach and the mountains and more recently his favorite past time was visiting with friends at the Willowemoc Campground and "tooling around" in his John Deere Gator. He will be remembered for his quick-wit, sense of humor, sarcasm, and joking ways; he always kept a positive outlook and made our days brighter. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest with "No Ragrets" (not even a single letter!)

His daughter said, “My dad always went above and beyond, especially during the holidays.  He made them so special.  We used to spend hours snowmobiling together and we looked back on those memories so fondly. He made the best French Toast and he always kept us laughing. We miss him dearly.”

Ted was preceded in death by his parents David & Mary Alver and his sisters Mary Frances Gooden and Gail Ann Gallo.

He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 42 years Carolyn (Ragonese) Alver, at home; pride and joy, daughter Katie Alver of Staten Island, NY, brother David "Kenny" Alver, sister-in-law Betty Ragonese, brother-in-law Gabe Gallo, nieces Christine, Felicia & Shannon and a tremendous circle of good friends and acquaintances who will forever miss him.

Memorial services will be private. The Alver family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for all the love, support, and prayers. Thank you for being a part of Ted’s life.
