Grant Mcadams

Grant F. McAdams of Roscoe, NY, a retired logger and a lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the Garnet Medical Center in Middletown, NY.  He was 90.

The son of the late Charles J. and Leilia Marble McAdams, he was born June 22, 1930 in the Town of Fremont, NY.

Grant served Our Country in the US Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean War.

He was a member of the Allan Milk VFW Post # 7276, Long Eddy, NY.  He was an expert trapper, hunter, fisherman and woodsman.  Raised his family on his back and shoulders.  Grant grew up with nothing but never lacked anything.  He now joins our mom and his brothers and sisters.  The family would like to thank the countless waitresses for making their dad’s life wonderful.  Bev, Bon, Vel and Grant.

Survivors include three daughters, Beverley Watson and her husband Dennis of Downsville, NY, Bonnie McAdams and her companion David Tettamanti of Toms River, NJ, and Velma Early of Roscoe, NY; one son, Grant McAdams and his wife Patsy of Roscoe, NY; one sister, Velma Straight of El Paso, TX; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Keesler McAdams and by several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be Monday, September 21, 2020 from 11AM-1PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY.  Social distancing guidelines must be met, and face masks are required.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 21, 2020 at 1 PM in the funeral home.  The Rev. Dora Odarenko will officiate.

Burial will be in the Tennanah Lake Cemetery, Tennanah Lake, NY.

Memorial contributions in Grant’s name may be made to the Sullivan County Veteran’s Coalition P. O. Box 1527, Monticello, NY 12701.
