Stephen Currey

Stephen L. Currey of Livingston Manor, NY, formerly of Roscoe, NY, a retired Computer Programmer for various firms throughout Sullivan County and a long-time area resident, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at the Garnet Health Medical Center, Middletown, NY.  He was 68.

The son of the late Horace and Glenola Ballard Currey, he was born September 8, 1953 in Monticello, NY.

Stephen had been a member of the Kingdom of Life Church, Hankins, NY. He loved music, reading books, and enjoyed being busy with his hands and working outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, of 37 years, Carole E. Bartschi Currey, at home; two daughters; Tonya Simpson and her husband Ralph of Roscoe, NY; Carrie Porter and her companion Cliff Davis of Roscoe NY; two sisters; Merleen "Chuddy" Watson and her husband Kenneth of CT and Susan Bivins and her husband Richard of Grahamsville; three brothers; Horace "Skip" Currey of Albany, NY, Michael Currey and his wife Karen of Grahamsville, NY, Alfred “Hank” Currey and his wife Shirley of Grahamsville, NY; six grandchildren; one great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, October 18, 2021, from 10 to 11AM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY. Funeral services will be at 11AM in the funeral home.  The Reverend Campbell Lumbilla will officiate.

Memorial contributions in Stephen’s’ name may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105
