William Niemann

William Percy Niemann of Youngsville, NY, a retired clerk for Liberty Farm Home and Garden in Liberty, NY and a life long area resident, died Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the Care Center at Sunset Lake, Liberty, NY.  He was 78.

The son of the late Charles Frank and Martha Cross Niemann, he was born July 11, 1943 in Liberty, NY.

He worked at various jobs including Kohler Lumber and Livingston Manor Lumber before retiring from Liberty Farm Home & Garden.  Until he wasn’t able to participate, Bill was an active member of the Youngsville Fire Department for 57 years; he served as Past Chief, President, Treasurer and Commissioner.  He was a member of the United Reformed Church of Youngsville and past member of the Craigie Claire Hunting Club.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Susan Kimmes Niemann, at home; his daughter Norma Pierce and her husband Peter, of  Cochecton, NY; his son, Todd Niemann of Youngsville, NY; four grandchildren, Amanda Niemann, Kristen Niemann (Katelyn), Michael Pierce and Patrick Pierce; two brothers, Harrison Niemann (Mary) and Robert Niemann (Sharon); five sisters, Edith VanLoan, Ardith Gorr, Marjorie Gorton (Warren), Lillian Boyle, Darlene Rapkin (George); and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Norman Niemann and Donald Niemann; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Niemann; and three brothers-in-law, Charles Gorr, Russell VanLoan and Robert Boyle.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 4 to 7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.  Youngsville Fire Department will conduct services at 7 PM in the funeral home.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 1 PM in the funeral home.  Pastor Joseph LeConey will officiate.

Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery, Youngsville, NY.
